Shepherds Huts

Shepherds hutsNestled in a beautiful and secluded valley, Penn Bergeyn, two charming yet luxurious shepherd’s huts, await you.

When you arrive, put your bags down and you will start to feel rested and uplifted. You can truly lose yourselves here, surrounded by the tranquil countryside actually bustling with wildlife, so just relax and enjoy the views and sounds of the Teign Valley. You can sit on the logs by the fire pit or at the table by the barbecue. It is all yours whilst you are here.

Both huts are fitted with underfloor heating, providing you with a constant warmth, especially welcomed after a invigorating autumnal walk on Dartmoor or a bike ride through Haldon Forest.
Whilst it feels like you are away from it all, Penn Bergeyn is only half and hour’s drive from the coastal towns of Teignmouth and Shaldon and about 20 minutes from the vibrant city of Exeter (cathedral, museum and the quays).

The huts have been designed and built by Tony, although the whole process was kindly but closely monitored on a regular basis by our Bedroom good friends who gave him and Soizig invaluable advice and help.

In the living hut, you will find a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge (with freezer space), a 2 ring gas hob, the all essential kettle and toaster, a cafetiere, pots, pans and all the necessary plates, cups, glasses and cutlery, even a wall-mounted bottled opener. You can eat at the breakfast bar overlooking the field or sit on the cushioned bench.

The bathroom contains a good size shower, sink and a compost loo. There is also a towel rail so your towels are always nice and warm.

Enter the bedroom and you will never want to leave. There is a very comfortable king size bed (with Egyptian cotton bedding and feather down duvet), a lovely little chest of drawer and a chair. No clutter, just peace and quiet.

Enjoy a real holiday, with no mobile signal, wi-fi connection, TV or radio, the only noises you will hear are the chirping of the birds, the mooing of our pedigree cattle, bleating of our lovely sheep, oh and the occasional tractor.
